About the Film
CHRISTMAS SLAY
All yule will want for Christmas, is to LIVE
Written by Steve Davis 'CHRISTMAS SLAY' is a unique take on the slash and stalk genre, a film inspired by so many great movie such as FRIDAY 13th, BLACK CHRISTMAS, SILENT NIGHT DEADLY NIGHT, HALLOWEEN, A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET, and so many other cult horror classics of the 1980's.
Our aim is to make an original slasher film franchise with a modern look and twist which stays true to the genre's original roots.
The story of CHRISTMAS SLAY begins on a wintery Christmas Eve in the picturesque Kentish countryside, the horrific murder of a loving family, and the capture of a Santa Claus obsessed blood thirsty killer.
As Christmas dawns closer the following year, a group of collage girlfriends decide to get away from it all and relax and party over the Christmas holiday, they decide to escape to the idyllic Mistletoe Lodge nestled within the beautiful snowy mountains of the Scottish Highlands, but what starts off as the perfect festive getaway of fun in the snow and a glass of eggnog or two, suddenly descends in to gruesome blood bath of terror, and a fight for survival.

Funding
CHRISTMAS SLAY IS 100% FAN FUNDED
Fan Funding for CHRISTMAS SLAY began on 1st December 2012 via Sponsume, and then again in May 2013 via Kickstarter, and thanks to the AMAZING support from the people of Twitter we raised a total of £9,433 from both crowd funding platforms.
We aim to hold one more fundraiser before Christmas 2013 to try and raise £2000 to cover all remaining filming costs, this would also enable us to shoot in 4k giving CHRISTMAS SLAY an extremely high production value, and also enable us to use the FX service's of simply the best SFX artist in the business, and if required we will hold one more campaign in 2014 to cover Post Production, but the overall aim is to produce a high quality independent horror production for less than £15,000 which would be an amazing achievement.

Filming & Locations
The story of CHRISTMAS SLAY is set in Kent in the South East of England and the beautiful mountains of the Scotish Highlands.
The first section of our film ( November/December 2013 ) will see us filming our intro and other key scenes in and around the area's of the famously bleak Romney Marshes, before going on to our main shoot.
Now in theory the CHRISTMAS SLAY team should be heading on up to Scotland to film the second and main section of the film ( February 2014 ) but unfortunately this wont be the case, filming in the UK means paying UK prices and the cost of our required location, transportation fee's and accommodation for our 12 cast and crew would mean we would need to Fan Fund another £6,000, bringing the total required budget to £15,000 so we had to find a cheaper alternative location, and we did.
As nice as it would have been to completely film CHRISTMAS SLAY here in the UK, we have now found the perfect location close to the Ski resort of Borovets in Bulgaria in one of the highest villages in the Balkan Mountain Range.
Our Bulgarian location has so much more to offer, as well as being our filming location it will also provide accommodation for our 16 cast and crew members during our two week shoot, another plus is that the area is extremely remote and so high above sea level that snow and lots of it is pretty much a guaranteed thing, but the best thing of all about filming in this location is the total cost, two week's accommodation in our filming location, with all the flights and travel expenses work out less than what it would cost for one week in a Scottish location..

Borovets LIVE Webcam
Borovets is just a short 5 minute drive from our main filming location in Bulgaria, click on the photo to the left to see a selection of live webcams from around the resort, here's hoping we have plenty of snow for our February shoot.
